You get 4 skulls, 3 of them are from the same group and 1 is the intruder. You have to find it.

5 rounds, starting at class and going down to species. The intruder is always from a close group, so it's not as easy as it looks.

If you find it, you can also guess the group of the other 3 for bonus points.

Available in free play and in the dailies. The Daily Challenge now has 5 modes, and you still only need 3 to keep your streak.

All modes now go from 0 to 10,000 and use the same formula: accuracy, speed and how rare the skull is.

Getting a hard skull right on the first try is worth a lot more than an easy one.

The score is calculated by the server now, so the leaderboard is fair.

Streak doesn't multiply your points anymore, it multiplies your XP instead.

Matches only start after all the photos are loaded, so the timer is fair even on slow internet. In Speed Run the timer also pauses while the next skull is loading.

If you close the page in the middle of a daily, you come back to the same match (same options, same mistakes, same timer).

New tabs: Today, Week, Season and All-time (Level, Collection and Streak).

Week and Season use your average score and how many days you played.

Every card is now a unique specimen, with its own record: where it was collected, who collected it and when.

Some specimens come in special preparations: engraving, cyanotype, radiograph, cleared & stained, CT scan, glass negative, UV fluorescence and daguerreotype (this one is really rare).

Type series: each species has only one Holotype and one Allotype in the whole game, plus up to 10 Paratypes.

There are also anomalies, record size skulls and old collection pieces.

All the cards you already had were converted automatically, you don't need to do anything.

Around 3 in 10 cards come with a frame (field notebook, expedition crate, display case, jar, diorama and others), each one with its own number.

You can swap frames between two of your cards of the same species.

Your own case where you show your best cards, medals and completed display cases. You can buy different covers for it with bones.

If you make it public, you can share the link and other players can admire it.

Every week some public cases show up on the home page.

Redone from scratch: 215 achievements in bronze, silver, gold and platinum, each one showing your progress.

Everything you already did before counts, they were given to you automatically.

Seasons are expeditions that last 2 months, each one in a different region. The first one follows Darwin's trip through South America.

Cards from packs that were collected in the season's region can give you an Expedition Ticket. There are 13 per season, released little by little.

Field Log: 16 species from the region. Reveal 8 and you get a stamp and a pack, reveal all 16 and you get the gold stamp and another pack.

Each season has its own leaderboard.

New end of match screen, showing everything you did in the match, your mistakes and how your score was calculated.

Animal info at the end of the match: weight, continents, diet and conservation status.

Specimen cards. Every card is laid out as a museum label and carries its own catalogue number (SKL) for each skull view you own.

Display cases. Groups of related species, such as the big cats, that pay bones when completed. Each case has two stages: Closed, with one card of every species, and Mounted, with every view of every species, which pays double.

Directed excavation. Spend five duplicates from a class to recover a species you are still missing from that class. You choose which duplicates go and see exactly what came out.

Recent entries. The cards you obtained most recently are shown at the top of your collection.

Pack opening. The pack opening sequence was redone.

Every past daily challenge has its own page: the answer, its full classification, the skull from every angle and how the community did.

See on which attempt most players got it, where people went wrong in Taxonomy and which wrong answer misled them, and how hard that day was compared with the others.

Find it at the bottom of the Daily page or in the footer under Past challenges.

Full collection. The album now shows your entire collection. It was previously limited to your 1,000 most recent cards.

Loading. The album transfers about 60% less data and opens noticeably faster.

Typography. New typefaces across the game.

Missing translations filled in across several languages, including screens that only appeared in English or Portuguese.

Other bug fixes and optimisations.

Streak Freeze. Covers one missed day. Only one can be active at a time.

Streak Restore. If you have already missed a day, buy it to recover the streak before it resets.

Light theme. Switch between light and dark from the theme toggle. If something looks wrong in light mode, let us know.

Scientific Mode. Available at the bottom of the language selector. Every species name in the game is shown in its scientific (Latin) form instead of the common name.

Where it applies. Classic, Progressive Taxonomy (species level), Speed Run and Skull Matcher.

While Scientific Mode is on, the rest of the interface is shown in English.

150+ new species. All of them available as album cards.

1,500+ new images. Including additional views for species already in the game.

If you spot a wrong image or translation among the new species, use the report button at the end of a match or post it in the bug-report channel on Discord.

Multi-pack purchase. Buy several packs in a single transaction.

Open all. Open every pack you hold at once from the album.

The level system was rebuilt. Levels now go up to 100, with named ranks along the way, from Bone Curious to Born Skulled.

Skull Matcher. Identify four skulls at once. Seeing them side by side trains you to tell apart species that look alike in isolation.

Daily Skull Matcher. The mode joins the daily challenges and rewards cards like the others.

Streaks. Completing three of the four daily challenges now keeps your streak. Skull Matcher counts as a bonus, not a requirement.

This is the first version of the mode and its difficulty is still being tuned. Tell us on Discord whether it feels too hard or too easy.

New species and skull views added to the pool. All of them can be collected as cards in the album.

AI analysis. At the end of each match, a breakdown explains where your answer went wrong and which features identify the correct animal. The analysis is a study aid and can occasionally misread a specimen.

Custom training. Play a single class at a time, such as only mammals or only reptiles, to practise the groups you find hardest.

Profile editing. Change your profile picture and username from inside the game.

Reports. Flag a wrong translation, an incorrect image or suggest an improvement directly from the results screen.

Account deletion. You can request the deletion of your account in settings.

Album filters. Sort and filter your cards by rarity, date obtained and more.

Languages. Added Spanish, French, Italian, German, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Arabic, Dutch, Polish and Turkish.

Sound. All game sounds were replaced with softer effects, and a mute button was added.

Interface. Visual refinements across several screens.

Image carousel. Smoother and cleaner on desktop and mobile.

Daily limit. More free plays per day.

General performance improvements and leaderboard fixes.
