The voyage

HMS Beagle left Plymouth on 27 December 1831 to chart the coast of South America. Charles Darwin spent more time ashore than aboard: the pampas, Patagonia, Tierra del Fuego and, in September 1835, the Galápagos.

The voyage around the world took almost five years. The field notebooks from that trip became the basis of On the Origin of Species.

How tickets come out

  1. The territory opens

For two months, any pack card collected in the voyage’s countries can bring the Expedition Ticket.

  2. Tickets are released over time

Twelve come in gradually, about one every five days. Any nobody has drawn stays available.

  3. Day aboard

A date from the voyage itself: the 13th ticket is released and the ticket chance doubles.

  4. Closing

On the last day, unissued tickets are burned. That voyage’s frame never returns.

Applies to all six

Territory
What counts is where the specimen was collected, not the species: the same species collected in another country does not count. One of the six has a different kind of territory.
Featured frame
A common frame tied to the voyage comes up twice as often.
Field log
Sixteen species from the region. Reveal eight during the season: a stamp and a pack with two of them. All sixteen: the gold stamp and another pack.
With an account
Tickets, field log and stamps belong to players with an account. Tickets only come from pack cards.

Passport

One stamp per expedition. All six of the year earn the title Around the world.
